So, I am relying on Microsoft Windows 7 drivers from Canon to do the trick. Of course, the OEM driver disk is no longer compatible to reload the printer due to it being a 32bit app. As this is a Windows 7 64bit compatible printer (with a couple of minor limitations), I am wondering why the Windows 7 driver set is not recognizing this printer. I have tried the usual Device Manager tricks for driver updates, Window Updates, etc. Printer is fine as this works perfectly under my XP machines and the USB port is fine on the PC as other devices are recognized without incident. Now, I only get a Device Unknown and the USB Plug N Play reporting it's not recognizing the device. ![]() ![]() This worked sporatically at first with my Windows 7 until recently. I have a Windows 7 Premium build with a Canon Pixma IP6600D Printer.
